Glowing Rectangles EP

Solace Zeta and NewType Music are pleased to announce the release of his latest project, Glowing Rectangles EP, which became available on July 8th, 2025. The release is his first EP since his collaborative project with Epic Vertex’s Apogee EP was released in the summer of 2016.
Glowing Rectangles EP is the first of two EPs being released shortly before the full LP, The Green Prototype, Vol. II (Emerald Fire) will release in late summer or fall of 2025. You’re My Seeking EP is the title of the second one tied to the same Green Prototype, Vol. II project.
For the Glowing Rectangles EP, Solace Zeta embraced a return to the influences of vinyl records while simultaneously keeping fresh with nuanced advancements to new musical cultures. “In old-school singles, produced on vinyl records, they soon discovered that they were wasting lots of material by only having one track per side of the record, which could have been justified for 45s, but LPs and EPs were another story,” says Solace Zeta. “They started making singles where you’d have three or four tracks, maybe more, and they’d have the original, unedited version of the song, the radio-friendly edited version of the song, an instrumental version, and even an a cappella version; even sometimes a remix or alternative version of it.”
Hoping to emulate that nostalgic sensibility, the Glowing Rectangles EP therefore includes four different versions of the single Glowing Rectangles: unedited, radio edit, instrumental, and a cappella. “To top it all off, the record companies had looked at the vinyl record and said, ‘hey, we still have the whole back of a record that could have a song too! Let’s take a second song and give them a bonus track and call it a B-side’,” says Solace Zeta. Following this format and homage to vinyl records, the Glowing Rectangles EP includes a B-Side single as well, a remix of Snow Monk’s (of which Solace Zeta is a member) earlier single from January of 2024.
The titular song Glowing Rectangles features guest appearances by Affliction Music (D-Stylz and High Key) fresh from Colorado Springs, and expounds upon the topic of the role visual media plays on controlling people’s lives and thoughts through it’s iconic screens, AKA Glowing Rectangles; whether a TV, computer, cell phone, handheld gaming device, and so on, we are surrounded everyday by glowing rectangles.
The Glowing Rectangle EP will soon be followed by the second EP/single You’re My Seeking, which is targeted for a late July or early August release. Finally, the full LP, The Green Prototype, Vol. II (Emerald Fire) will be released near September.
